Growing up, I loved reading Agatha Christie mystery novels. I'm not sure when I started reading them, but the one I first remember is And Then There Were None. I was fascinated by her storytelling and her ability to totally keep me in the dark about what was happening. My mom was the person who first introduced me to Christie mysteries. :)
I've continued reading mysteries since, but I really don't like anything that is gory or violent. That's not enjoyable reading for me. Lots of grown-up mysteries involve murder, so I tend to be very careful about what I choose to read. So, I am in the midst of evaluating the mystery collection at Two Springs. I am currently reading The Calder Game by Blue Balliett. So far, it involves the artwork of Alexander Calder and the disappearance of a boy named Calder Pillay. I'm still waiting to see how it all comes together, but so far -- so good. It is making me want to look up and learn a little about Alexander Calder, who really did live and create art!
I would love to know people's favorite mysteries. What mysteries would be good to recommend for students at Two Springs?
